Top includes sales of all automotive brands from groups (for example, to General Motors, the best known European brand is Opel, while the first European manufacturer, Volkswagen Group, owns, besides the trademark "mother" brands Audi, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley and Lamborghini). As might be expected, Toyota has dethrone General Motors and is the new world leader, and the difference between the two giants is expected to increase this year in the Japanese favor.
Moreover, all U.S. manufacturers, are in regression. The first European manufacturer, Volkswagen Group, is the third in the world. Only 3 European manufacturers have entered in this ranking, dominated by Asian manufacturers.
