The new German four-door coupe is already in full development, and will be launch at the end of 2010.
The revolutionary model from Mercedes is already preparing for a second generation, which will not take away a lot of the recipe which has brought success. It will be maintained the body with four doors and with a coupe aspect but will have and a hybrid motorization. This will most likely be founded on the S400 hybrid, with the release at the end of next year.
Four propeller will be available: V6 of 3.5 liters, direct injection and 292 HP with a increased power to 306 HP in 2012, a V8 of 5.5 litres and 388 HP with a ultra powered by 435 HP and 570 HP in AMG version, plus a V6 diesel of 3.0 liters and 224 HP will be replaced in 2012 by a more powerful engine, 313 HP.
Unlike the current technical solutions with batteries based on nickel, the new hybrid transmission will be replaced with lithium-ion batteries, more advanced and easier. The official launching will be held only at the end of 2010, for the sales to begin next year.
