The British from Lotus will develop until next year an engine that will operate at maximum the fuel-based alcohol capacities.
The main problem of the mixed engines that are go with alcohol but and with gasoline is that they are limited by the configuration necessary for operation with the latter fuel. Alcohol benefit from the best features of combustion and therefore to get the most they need an engine developed exclusively for running with it.
This will be designed by engineers at Lotus, in collaboration with the University of Belfast and Jaguar Cars and will be submitted for the first time that a two-stroke engine with a single cylinder. Architecture engine will present an innovative system of a rate variation of compression combined with direct injection, the result is a considerable improvement in fuel economy.
